Nurse Tech Program
Nurse Techs work as a "Nurse Intern", meaning that they will utilize their nursing skills while learning to provide excellent patient care.
- Students are required to work a minimum of 60 hours every 6-week pay period.
- Schedules are highly flexible to support their education.
- Nurse Tech orientation and new employee orientation are required.
- Nurse Techs who remain at Hendrick as registered nurses are eligible for a bonus upon the completion of their first six months of their nursing role.

What Does the Nurse Tech Role Involve?
The Nurse Tech role is designed to give nursing students hands-on clinical experience while working alongside licensed nurses in a hospital setting. Nurse Techs assist with direct patient care and gain exposure to real-world nursing workflows, communication, and clinical decision-making.

- Assisting patients with activities of daily living
- Taking vital signs and documenting patient information
- Helping maintain patient safety and comfort
- Supporting nurses with routine patient care tasks
- Participating in bedside shift report and patient rounding
- Observing medication administration and nursing procedures
- Developing communication and critical thinking skills in a clinical environment
- Collaborating with interdisciplinary healthcare teams

Eligibility Requirements
Students must meet the following requirements to apply for the Nurse Tech role:
Students must have successfully completed at least their first semester of nursing school before beginning the Nurse Tech role. (First semester students are eligible to apply and may start in the role upon successful completion of the first semester)
- Currently enrolled and in good standing in an accredited nursing program
- CPR/BLS certification required
- Ability to maintain professionalism and confidentiality in a healthcare setting
